New Kia Soul 2016 price, colors, changes – The new Soul has been released by Kia quite recently and the best part about it is that the car actually managed to keep its fresh spirit unchanged which is a great feature considering most manufacturers are going for a more corporate design. The 2016 Soul is set to be a small update for this tiny compact which will likely include updated features for base models, an even better interior as well as two two-tone style combinations. One of the most interesting things about the Soul is always going to be its exterior which looks fresh and young, just what a young adults needs. The new 2016 Kia Soul doesn’t take itself too serious and thanks to that it manages to get a lot of people following it. Its price will stay similar to the current model value. The base version is going to cost just over $16,000 which is damn good value for money.
New Kia Soul 2016 price
The 2016 Kia Soul comes in same three trim unique levels as before: Base, Plus and Exclaim. There is going to be a new trim level for the EV model. This will cost nearly $2,000 less than before and it will even include more gear inside the cabin. On top of that, a new sport version has been rumored ever since the Trackster concept has been released and it seems that Kia is finally going to make such a car with a more powerful engine as well as an even more fun exterior than before. We can sit and wait for that to happen.
2016 Kia Soul specs
The base 2016 Kia Soul on the US market is going to get the same naturally aspirated 1.6 liter 130 horsepower mill which is better than average, offering well over 26 MPG on average on both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Other two models are equipped with 2.0-liter inline 4 engine that delivers 164 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant comes paired only with 6-speed automatic transmission and it is good for 27 mpg of combined fuel economy.
The EV model of the new Kia Soul 2016 on the other hand will get the same 109 horsepower and 210 lb-ft electric motor as well as the same 27 kWh battery pack. Just like before it has EPA estimated range of 93 miles and an EPA MPGe of 105 miles combined (120/92 miles city/hwy).
Kia Soul 2016 colors
The exterior will remain mostly unchanged for both the EV as well as for the base version of the Soul. Unlike the its predecessor, the 2016 Soul is available with a new Designer Collection package which includes two two-toned colors combinations (red with a black roof and white with a red roof), 18-inch alloy wheels, and a leather-wrapped gearshift knob and steering wheel. When it comes to future Sport model, our best guess is that Kia will borrow from the design of the Trackster concept in making the production vehicle which is not exactly a bad thing considering that car is one of the best Kia ever made in terms of design. Depending on chosen trim level there are eleven Kia Soul 2016 colors available: Alien 2, Bright Silver, Clear White, Latte Brown, Shadow Black, Titanium Gray, Fathom Blue, Carribean Blue, Inferno Red, Solar Yellow and Cloud.
Interior wise, the 2016 Kia Soul will be pretty much identical to the older model. However, the new base model for the EV will feature new equipment such as a heated steering wheel, a six speaker audio system, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard as well as a dual zone automatic climate control, all as standard. The Exclaim trim level now comes with leather-trimmed seats, Forward Collision Warning System and Lane Departure Warning System as standard.
