2016 GMC Yukon Denali, price, changes, colors – The Yukon is a full size SUV which was actually fully redesigned for the 2015 model year, meaning that the current truck is actually up to date with most of the newest technologies. However, in order to keep it among the best trucks out there, GM is going to update this massive car once again with the new GMC Yukon 2016. While it has not been officially released on the market just yet, GM released pretty much everything there is to know about it, from what engines it will come with and even the interior and exterior changes, which is a very nice thing to know, especially for people looking to buy one of these SUVs in the next few months.

It seems that the new 2016 GMC Yukon is going to arrive to the GM dealerships in fall 2016 with all of the changes which are going to make it even better than before. Price will slightly be higher than cost of the current generation which could mean that the base model will be just under $49,000 which is very good considering the Land Cruiser is nearly $30,000 more while not offering much extras over the Yukon.

New GMC Yukon 2016 specs

Engine wise, the new GMC Yukon 2016 remained unchanged from the current model which means it will still come with two different engines, depending on the trim level of choice. Firstly, both the usual model as well as the elongated XL model will come with the same 5.3 liter naturally aspirated V8 as before. This engine is quite capable at 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, but it lacks the high end power many people are looking for. The 6 speed automatic will remain unchanged as well and it will likely remain rear wheel drive as standard while all wheel drive is always going to be an option. The luxury model of this full-size SUV, the 2016 GMC Yukon Denali, will come with the same 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 as before. This will offer 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and it happens to be the same engine as in the Escalade. This on the other hand will make use of an 8 speed automatic and a slightly more complex all wheel drive system.

However, the Denali is a bit more different when it comes to the running gear and the 2016 model will make no exception. This will come as standard with an adaptive ride system which will have to handle the over 5000 pounds of weight as well as the massive 22 inch wheels to which GMC added two new design options. Unfortunately these wheels weigh nearly 100 pounds, each, with the tires on them, meaning that in case of something goes bad the driver will probably have to call a towing company.

2016 GMC Yukon changes

Inside the cabin, the new GMC Yukon 2016 should receive a few upgrades over the previous model. However, unlike what most manufacturers are doing, the Yukon is going to receive quite a bit of safety tech which should keep both the car and its passengers. As standard the new Yukon is now going to come with an enhanced driver alter package which will add active lane-keep assist and auto-high beams to the forward collision alert as well as lane departure warning with seat warning and a new foot-sensing power-tailgate which should make things a lot easier when loading it. The exterior of the new 2016 GMC Yukon on the other hand will remain pretty much unchanged with a few minor exceptions such as the addition of two new rims options for the higher end models as well as a couple of new color combinations. On top of that, a new security package is going to be available which will make the car a lot harder to steal than before.
