2017 Ford Bronco price, specs, redesign – The Bronco is one of the original sport utility vehicles so when Ford decided to discontinue it more than a decade ago, many people were angry with their decision. However, not too long ago rumors started to spread about an upcoming model from Ford, a new type of full size SUV which was going to bear the Bronco name. Unfortunately Ford said in a press release a few months ago that they are working at a lot of cars in their development center but the Bronco is not currently one of them. However, a Ford insider said that the new Ford Bronco 2017 is actually in development and it should be ready to be presented to the public some time at the end of 2016. Ford is just trying to keep the car under wraps just like they did with the new Ford GT.
2017 Ford Bronco estimated price
They want to do that because the upcoming Bronco is a game changer. It should be a 2-door full-size SUV with enough room for up to eight people and their luggage. A true sport utility vehicle which may have what it takes to become an icon, just like the previous model was. There is still no word about the pricing scheme but it seems the Bronco is going to be around $40,000 when it is going to be launched. While it may seem like a lot but it will have a lot more in common with the Raptor than with the F-150. The platform will be the same as the one of the F-150 but the entire running gear will be carried over from the Raptor. The engines should also be new as well as the design.
New Ford Bronco 2017 specs
Under the hood of the new Ford Bronco 2017 we might see two different engines in order to fit its price. The base model will likely use a naturally aspirated 5.0 liter V8 which will offer around 400 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, enough to make this big beast accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in around 6 seconds thanks to its aluminum body and lightweight chassis. The option will likely be the same engine as the one fitted on the next generation Raptor, a 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 which could offer upwards of 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Both of them will be available with Ford’s all new 10 speed automatic and both of them will only be offered with all wheel drive. A diesel has also been rumored but it has not been confirmed or denied by Ford. It is said that the diesel could be a newly developed engine specifically for the F-150 and the new Bronco.
2017 Ford Bronco changes
The design of the 2017 Ford Bronco will very likely borrow a lot from the leaked renders of the last year model. The front end will be quite similar to that of the Raptor and it will be a bit more masculine looking than the F-150 with flared wheel arches, bigger wheels and tires as well as only two doors, a unique feature among the current full size SUVs on the market. The back end will be unique with a pickup-like tailgate and an independent glass cover.
Inside the cabin of the 2017 Ford Bronco things are going to be just as interesting as its exterior. Early rumors suggest that the dashboard, as well as the front seats, is going to be carried over from the Raptor, only with new color options. However, in the back there are going to be a few options such as a military-style seat arrangement or with four normal seats, two of them oriented to the front of the car and two of them to the back of it in order to improve the access to all of them and also to allow all the passengers to enjoy the view.
