2016 Subaru Outback changes, price, specs – The Outback is one of the most appreciated crossovers on the market and despite the fact it is classified as a compact crossover, it is actually quite a bit bigger than the average of its class. This is also because it has a lot more in common with the large Legacy than with the compact Impreza. The car was in fact updated last year alongside most other cars from Subaru. However, unfortunately they did not changed its platform or even the engines meaning that despite the fact it is said to be all new, the Outback has a lot in common with the cars from the early 2000s. This is going to change in the future when a new Subaru Outback 2016 is going to use an all new modular platform which it will share with all the other Subaru cars.
2016 Subaru Outback changes and price
The 2016 Subaru Outback has been announced a few weeks ago and the car is actually quite close of being put in production. Just like the model it is replacing, it will basically be the same car as before with only a few safety features added to it as well as a few changes inside the cabin. The engine and the platform will remain unchanged but the running gear is expected to be tweaked in order to offer a slightly more comfortable ride than before. The car should be ready to go into production by the end of this year for a price no higher than $26,000 which also happens to be where the previous model was.

New Subaru Outback 2016 specs
Under the hood of the new Subaru Outback 2016 there are not going to be any changes, so it will come with the same two engines as before. The base model will make use of a naturally aspirated 2.5 liter flat-four good for 174 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The option will be the 3.6 liter naturally aspirated flat-6 which offers a much smoother experience than the base model but with slightly higher fuel consumption. All wheel drive will also be standard and so it will be the CVT gearbox which is already a lot better than many other automatics on the market. The only problem we see with the US version of the 2016 Subaru Outback is that the great 2 liter diesel will not be available, so it will not be able to compete with the VW Tiguan or even the with other petrol powered cars because it uses just too much fuel.
2016 Subaru Outback redesign
Inside the cabin Subaru is going to work on the equipment level of the car, so it will not be overlooked by tech loving customers. The base model will get a new infotainment system with a 6.2 inch screen, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. This will allow for listening through satellite radio and it should be a nice improvement over the old model. The premium version of the car on the other hand will make use of a bigger 7 inch screen that will also include dual-USB ports, satellite navigation as well as a hands-free SMS text messaging which should be quite handy for people spending a lot of time behind the wheel. A few safety features are also going to be added such as a remote diagnostics report, a vehicle locator function with internet connectivity as well as a very good alarm system.
The exterior of the new Subaru Outback 2016 will not change almost at all when compared with the current model which is to be expected considering it has just been released last year. However, we do expect it to come with a bit more color options as well as a new set of wheels for the premium edition of the 2016 Subaru Outback which would make it look a bit more stylish.
