2016 Infiniti Q50 price, changes, redesign – The Infiniti Q50 has been released back in 2013 around the World, and it was one of the first cars to benefit from the Mercedes-Nissan partnership. The car is a compact executive sedan which is in the same class with the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4. However, despite that, it is more expensive than the two on the US market while in Europe it can be had for roughly the same price due to the smaller engines available there. The car started off very good and it is currently one of the better selling models on most markets. In order to keep and even increase their lead, Infiniti is going to release a new Infiniti Q50 2016 starting with the last quarter of 2015.
2016 Infiniti Q50 changes
The new 2016 Infiniti Q50 is going to be a mid-life facelift which is going to include a few changes under the hood, a new trim level which many people were expecting as well as some changes under the skin which will very likely improve the way the car drives. The only real drawback we had with this model was its electric steering which was very vague and not that suited for a sports executive sedan. Luckily though, Infiniti listened to its customers and they decided to improve it. How, you may ask? Well, the will fit the new 2016 model with the same steering rack found in the older G37 which may seem strange, but that car was near perfect when it comes to the feedback it offered through the steering, so that’s just fine with us. The price will remain similar to the current model, so it should not cost much more than $39,000 for the base model.
New Infiniti Q50 2016 changes
Engine wise, the new Infiniti Q50 2016 will get the same naturally aspirated 3.7 liter V6 with 328 horsepower as a base engine, which still offers one of the best sounds in its class. The 3.5 liter V6 hybrid with 360 horsepower will also be carried over unchanged. Both of these will be available with either rear wheel drive or all wheel drive and both of them will come as standard with a 7-speed automatic. Novelty is that it will also come with 2.0 liter 4 cylinder powerplant with turbocharger.
The news also come in the form of the Eau Rouge model which was first released at the Geneva Auto Show as a concept car and not much else. However, rumors started to appear and it seems that a 2016 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is closer than we thought. This would be aimed directly at the BMW M3 or the new Audi RS4. The concept car used the same 3.8 liter V6 as the one in the GT-R but the production model is likely going to get a bit less power than the 568 horsepower of the concept car. In fact, we expect it to get around 500 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque from the twin-turbo V6 which is still mighty impressive considering all of its competitors are less powerful than it.
2016 Infiniti Q50 redesign
The exterior of the 2016 Infiniti Q50 on the other hand will not change that much over the current model. In fact, besides the special edition Eau Rouge model, things are going to remain pretty much identical. The high performance model though will get a subtle body kit, new larger 19 inch wheels with wider tires than before and new color options to give it a slightly more aggressive look.
Inside the cabin things will be similar to the exterior meaning that the design will remain unchanged for the new model. However, the infotainment system should see a nice upgrade over the previous model which was not that great, being slow when compared with the competition as well as quite hard to use despite the fact it used touch inputs.
