2016 Audi A4 release price, redesign, engine specs – The A4 is the best selling car from the German manufacturer and it also happens to be one of the best small executive sedans on the market. However, the current model has been around since 2011 and it hasn’t change a bit since then showing how good the car has been. However, considering both Mercedes and BMW updated their offerings, it is now the time for a new car with the new Audi A4 2016 being expected to be released some time in the next few months while the production model will likely be released on the market in the early 2016. It will be based on an brand-new platform and unlike the current model it will actually be marketed higher.
2016 Audi A4 price
Even though this does look like an odd thing to do, especially when coming from Audi, they decided to go through with this because the A3 Sedan is already a great offering which is only slightly less expensive than the A4. In order to change that, the base price for the A4 will go up by around $4,000 to nearly $40,000 which is right where the C-Class is. Even though it may seem odd, Audi will make the A4 more refined, luxurious as well as they will give it more power.
New Audi A4 2016 engine specs
Just as we said, it will run on an improved MLB platform which also underpins all the current new Audi models such as the A6 or even the Q7. This will allow them to make the car more rigid as well as it will allow the new Audi A4 2016 to be faster as well as more fuel efficient.
Engine wise, the car will make use of all new engines. The base model will get a new 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 good for around 260 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Further up the range, the car will also be available with a supercharged V6 with up to 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. Both of them will be available with a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic as well as the standard quattro all wheel drive system. The S4 on the other hand will make use of the same 3 liter supercharged V6 as the usual A4, but with more power at nearly 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. This should get a differently tuned all wheel drive system as well as a better running gear. The RS4 will also get an all new engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which could provide well over 450 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. There is no info about US engine lineup, but we presume that 2016 Audi A4 sedan will be powered by 2.0-liter TFSI or the 2.0-liter TDI engine.
2016 Audi A4 redesign
The exterior of the 2016 Audi A4 will not remain unchanged either. The car will receive a sharper look in general such as a new more angular grille, more similar to the Prologue concept car, LED headlights and tail lights, active aerodynamic features such as bumper air intakes or a small diffuser-like system at the back. The wheels will be all new and the S4 and RS4 models will get all new body kits with the RS4 being expected to receive a pop-up spoiler which will help with the stability of the car at really high speeds.
Most changes though are going to be on the interior of the 2016 Audi A4 and that’s because Audi wants it to be more refined. Even the base model will now come with leather upholstery, Audi’s own Android running infotainment and navigation system, sport seats and a sport steering wheel, aluminum or wood accents, depending on what the buyer wants as well as a 12 speaker audio system. The higher end version will get a B&A audio system, a bigger screen for the infotainment unit as well as more refined leather and wood.
